Nintendo Europe is a subsidary of Nintendo. The orginal office was established in Frankfurt, Germany in June 1990. Additional offices were opened in 1993 after the release of the SNES (Super Ninento Entertainment System) in the United Kingdom, Spain, France and Belguim.

Europe was orginally divided into two Nintendo Regions PAL A and PAL B. The NES fetaured  a lock out chip that prevented games from PAL A working in PAL B and visa-versa.

PAL A comprised of the United Kingdom, Italy,  Australia and New Zealand 

These were the countries where Mattel had orginally secured distrubtion rights for Nintendo products.

PAL B comprised of Germany, France, Belguim, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Sweden, Greece, Scadinavia, South Africa and Isreal.
