Ian Boswell graduated from Auckland University in New Zealand, where he graduated with a Master of Computer Science and a MA in Music. During this time he met Martin Buis and both worked on The Dark Heart of Uukrul (1989) which was released by Broderbund Software, Inc. This was the final game they designed. Boswell is now the managing director and owner of Clearfield Software Ltd in New Zealand.
